Who is responsible
My company, named on the legal notice, is responsible for the personal details this site collects. You reach it at narges@helpmeclarify.com.
This page says what is collected, why, who receives it, how long it is kept and what you can ask.
What is collected, and why
When you book a session, you give your full name, your email, your phone number, your question, your date of birth, your time of birth or the fact that you do not know it, and your country and city of birth. You also choose a time zone, which is kept with the booking.
These details serve one purpose: to prepare and give your session. The birth details are what a BaZi reading is built on. The email carries your confirmation, your Zoom link and a reminder 24 hours before the session.
The payment is taken by Stripe. Your card number never reaches this site. Stripe passes on that you paid, the amount and a payment reference.
Like any web host, the hosting company keeps short technical logs: the address of your device, the time and the page asked for. They serve to keep the site running and safe.
On what basis
The booking details are processed because they are needed for the contract you make when you book (Federal Decree-Law 45/2021, article 4; for a person in the European Union, GDPR article 6(1)(b)). The technical logs rest on the legitimate interest of keeping the site safe.
Recording
A session is recorded only if you ask for it. The recording is made on my own computer, sent to you, then erased.
Who receives your details
These companies work for the site and process your details on its instructions. Each of them publishes its own privacy policy. Nobody else receives your details, and they are never sold.
I read your booking to prepare the session, and no one else does.
- Stripe, which takes the payment and sees your email and your card details.
- Zoom, which runs the video call. The meeting is created for the hour of your session; you join it with the link in your email.
- Resend, which sends the emails and therefore sees your email address and what the emails say.
- Supabase, which runs the booking database, in Mumbai, India.
- Vercel, which serves the site and runs its server code, also in Mumbai, India.
Where your details are stored
The booking database and the site's server sit in Mumbai, India. Stripe, Zoom and Resend keep what they receive on their own servers, which may be in the United States or in Europe.
Your details therefore leave the United Arab Emirates, and the European Union if you live there. They go only to the companies named above, for the purposes named above.
How long they are kept
A booking you did not pay for keeps your details for about 24 hours after it ended, then they are erased.
A paid booking keeps your details until you ask for them to be erased. Write to narges@helpmeclarify.com and they are erased.
The record of the payment itself, the date, the amount and the Stripe reference, is kept for as long as accounting law asks.
What you can ask
You can ask what is kept about you, have it corrected or erased, receive a copy of it, or object to its use. Write to narges@helpmeclarify.com. You get an answer within a month.
If the answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the data protection authority of the country you live in. For the United Arab Emirates, that is the UAE Data Office.
Cookies, and what your browser keeps
This site sets one cookie, named booking, only while you book. It ties your browser to your booking during the payment and serves nothing else.
While you fill in the form, your browser keeps what you typed in its own session memory, so that a page reload does not lose it. It goes when you close the tab.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only. The database answers the site's server alone, never a browser. Your card details are typed on Stripe's page, never here.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
